Privacy policy

This explains what Ten Ten collects and why. The short version: we keep what we need to run your circle and live talk — not a public social graph.

Who we are

Ten Ten is a live walkie-talkie app for people you choose to add. This policy describes what we collect when you use the Android app and related services (accounts, live voice and video, and this website).

What we collect

Account: email address, display name, hashed password, and a unique friend PIN. You can upload a profile photo.

Friends: which accounts you add by PIN, so we can connect your circle.

Device: platform (for example Android), a device identifier (device ID) used to distinguish your installations, push notification tokens, and when the device was last seen, so we can deliver live alerts.

Device ID: we generate and store a unique device ID per installation. This ID is used solely to manage sessions and push delivery — it is never shared with third parties for advertising or tracking purposes.

Approximate location: when your app registers or connects, we may look up country, region, and city from your IP address. We do not collect GPS or precise location.

App settings you choose, such as silent mode and Do Not Disturb.

Live voice and video

Ten Ten is built for live talk, not a public feed. We do not keep a timeline of your conversations.

To connect you, audio and video may pass through our relay (TURN) and standard STUN servers. That traffic exists to complete the live session. We do not store your calls as recordings in the product.

Encrypted chat

Messages sent through Ten Ten are transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) to protect them from interception in transit.

We do not sell, share, or mine your chat content. Messages are processed only as needed to deliver them to the intended recipient.

Because Ten Ten is a live walkie-talkie experience, messages are not persisted on our servers after delivery. Once delivered, the content is not retained in the product.

If you report a message for abuse, we may retain a copy of that specific message solely to investigate the report and enforce our policies.

How we use information

Create and secure your account, including password-reset codes sent to your email.

Let friends find you by PIN and show your name and photo in the app.

Wake a friend’s device when you hold to talk, using Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Operate, debug, and protect the service, including approximate region stats for running the product.

Who we share with

People in your circle see the profile information you put in the app (name, photo, PIN-based identity).

Service providers that help us run Ten Ten, including hosting, email delivery, IP geolocation lookups, Firebase for push notifications, and connectivity servers for live sessions. They process data on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect users and the service.

How long we keep it

We keep account, friend, and device records while your account exists.

If you delete your account in the app, we remove your profile photo and account data from our systems, along with linked devices and friendships. Backups may take a short time to expire.

Your choices

You can edit your name, photo, PIN, silent mode, and Do Not Disturb in the app.

You can turn off notifications in your phone settings; some live features will not work without them.

Account deletion

You can permanently delete your Ten Ten account at any time from within the app: open the app → go to Profile → Account → Delete Account.

When you delete your account we remove your profile, display name, photo, hashed password, friend PIN, and all associated device records and friendships from our live systems.

Your device ID records and push tokens linked to your account are also deleted as part of this process.

Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on a rolling schedule, typically within 30 days.

If you cannot access the in-app control, see the Data deletion section below.

Data deletion requests

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time, even if you cannot use the in-app account deletion flow.

To submit a deletion request, contact us using the developer contact listed on our Google Play listing, or write from the email address on your Ten Ten account, with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".

Please include your registered email address and, if known, your friend PIN so we can locate your account. We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days.

Note: deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Your account and all associated data will be irrecoverably removed.

Children

Ten Ten is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Ten Ten after a change means you accept the updated policy.
